The Sins of a Nation Will Bring Her to Ruin

By Christina Davies on  From teenadaveez.blogspot.com
As I said in a recent post; we can have an inkling as to where Obama will lead us. And I don't believe it's a straight course to better times. But I reserve judgment knowing that anyone taking the helm at this time has their work cut out for them. King Solomon would say in Proverbs 14:34, "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people." When a nation's ignominy is exposed; it is not a good thing, folks. Let me define disgrace with more depth and suggest what that entails...Read Full Story

Wickedness wil be Exposed

By Christina Davies on  From teenadaveez.blogspot.com
Throughout a controversial debate on health care reform, I've noticed deceit on the part of its proponents. When President Obama addressed both congressional bodies in a speech recently to sell his health care plan; his charming oration was once again, beautifully delivered. Our ears were tickled with every good possibility concerning the merits of these reforms. We heard how it is our right to health care and everyone needs access. We heard how through policing fraud in the current system...Read Full Story

A Gentle Answer Turns Away Wrath

By Christina Davies on  From teenadaveez.blogspot.com
In a society that treasures freedom of speech; I think it's a good idea to apply the King's wisdom when unleashing our tongue. In Proverbs 15, verse 1&2, he proclaims an applicable edict: 'A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.'Last week there was a firestorm of controversy surrounding the issue of freedom of speech at an unlikely venue - and many have expressed their fair share of...Read Full Story

Be Wise and Show Restraint

By Christina Davies on  From teenadaveez.blogspot.com
King Solomon tells us within the first few verses in chapter 23 of Proverbs, that the delicacies of riches, though seducing, are deceptive. He warns us to beware. A mere glance and very quickly; it's gone, as if sprouted wings like an eagle swiftly soared it away to the heights of the sky. In other words, riches invite us to enjoy its pleasures and seduce us to believe that if we had enough of it; we would be happy and secure. These times are proof of how fleeting riches are. I know many who...Read Full Story

Foolish associations bring harm.

By Christina Davies on  From teenadaveez.blogspot.com
Recently both campaigns for the US presidency has turned quite ugly with hateful pot stirring by one camp to profane mockery from the other. One can hear the fanfare at McCaine/Palin's rallies shouting out their anger that was reminiscent of a movie I recall from the 70's called 'Network', "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!" Vindictive and incited to wrath, these folks are furious about two things: the legislative bail out of the banking failures and the journalist bias...Read Full Story

Sunday Scripture: Proverbs 29:15
Proverbs 29:15 - "A rod and a reprimand impart wisdom, but a child left undisciplined disgraces its mother." (NIV) From an early age we learn that there are consequences to our actions. Most of us learn this as our parents set down rules and guidelines for us. It's up to our parents to set the rules and tell us how to make good decisions, but it's also up to us to follow those rules and think through what we're doing....Read Full Post
