Air Intake Adds 22hp To Chevy
Add 22 horsepower and 28 lb/ft torque to the 2007 Chevy Tahoe with an AIRAID Air Intake Kit
The all-new `07 Chevrolet Tahoe offers a sneak-peak at what the next generation GM full-size truck lineup (Code Named GMT-900) has to offer. The new lineup features bold new styling, upgraded powerplants that produce more horsepower and torque than previous models, and an available all-new Active Fuel Management system for better fuel economy. In a nutshell, GM is poised to hit another home run in the full-size truck market with both more power and better fuel economy as well.
The 5.3-liter V8, which is the option engine on the `07 Tahoe, benefits from aluminum cylinder heads, a larger throttle body and upgraded intake plumbing which ups performance to 320 horsepower and 340 lbs/ft of torque. But with this factory-supplied combination of power parts, theres plenty of potential for even more power to be made.
In order to take full advantage of the increased power and air/fuel delivery efficiencies the `07 Chevy Tahoe has to offer, AIRAID Filter Company went to work to develop an all-new Cool Air Dam Intake System for the new generation GM truck. The new intake system takes full advantage of GMs upgraded intake plumbing and larger throttle body to generate even more horsepower and torque and while also improving throttle response.
The new AIRAID `07 Tahoe CAD system utilizes a huge 1,600 cfm AIRAID Premium SynthaFlow filter that is isolated from engine heat by a computer-designed Cool Air Dam. The AIRAID SynthaFlow premium filter is a specially-blended combination of cotton gauze and a synthetic layer that consistently Filters down to two microns, providing superior protection at no extra cost. The system takes advantage of cool, outside air and funnels it through a six-inch velocity stack/filter adapter so the air is straightened across the mass air meter. The end result is power, and plenty of it. In fact, in dyno testing, the new AIRAID CAD system on a `07 Tahoe equipped with the Active Fuel Management 5.3-liter V8, generated an additional 22 horsepower and 28 lbs./ feet of torque at the rear wheels.
Best of all, installation of AIRAIDs New `07 Chevy Tahoe intake system is easy and can be accomplished with ordinary hand tools in less than an hour. And as is the case with all AIRAID Intake Systems, the new `07 Chevy Tahoe Intake System comes with a No Hassle Warranty.
The 2007 Tahoe can gain some additional horsepower and torque from adding an air intake system.

The AIRAID Intake install begins by first loosening the clamps around both ends of the mass air meter.
![]()
Gently pull the tube/hose end off first.
Next, the mass air meter can be removed from the factory air box.
![]()
Without disconnecting the wiring harness, set the mass air meter out of the way.
![]()
With some rocking and pulling upward, the factory air box can be removed from its mounting location.
Once the air box is removed, the air box mounting plate can be unbolted

Four bolts hold the plate in place so it is easily removed

Follow the AIRAID directions to assemble the air intake assembly. The intake simply drops in the space the factory air box used to occupy.
The kit supplies four new bolts to secure the intake to the body.

With the intake securely in place, the mass air meter is attached to the air filter adapter on the back side of the intake.

The factory accordion tube is added next and the clamps are tightened.
The final step of the install is to add the huge 1600cfm AIRAID Premium Filter

The finished install should look like this.

On the dyno, the AIRAID Intake System generated an additional 22 horsepower and 28 lb/ft of torque at the rear wheels.
The dyno chart shows that the engine made 22 horsepower and 28 lbs/ft of torque.
