How often do you hear that phrase being expressed, normal service will be resumed as soon as possible. It may be your utility provider, when your service was disconnected for some reason, or your internet service provider, when your connection was down, or the company that hosts your business computer system, when their server was not available due to technical problems. But what exactly is meant by normal service? What if the normal service that you were receiving was a load of rubbish and... Read Full Story
Have you had the experience of having to ring a customer service department of some company for help? I’m sure most of us have experienced the annoyance and frustration of listening to a huge list of options, then pressing a number, then finding ourselves at another menu. And listening to more options. And pressing another button. And so on.
Invariably you end up in the wrong department anyway or there simply isn’t an option for what your query is about. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could... Read Full Story
And it's not always what our spiritual teachers or textbooks tell us. The Weight of The Proof is Overpowering That Life Goes On. Discount large dog beds . But the overpowering proof for something, even if science turns a blinkered eye, often is. But when you ADD every one of them up, and take a look at them in total, they're surprisingly evidential that something really astonishing occurs currently of, ( and after ) physical death. Some examples? Near Death Experiences : ( folk who have... Read Full Story
When it comes to purchasing alcoholic bevvies in our home province, there is only one game in town and that is the retail equivalent of Dodge Ball, the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO). When Ontarians speak of going to "The Beer Store", or "The Liquor Store" it is not due to some inherent Canadian fondness for speaking in generalities, but an actual trademark reflecting the incredible heights of the government's creativity. The LCBO holds a government monopoly over the sale of alcohol... Read Full Story
Hi all! It's been about a week and a half and between the last blog and today I decided to take up a new project. I currently have a lot of free time, so I thought I'd take a photo every day for a year and post it. Seems like a long time, but completely feasible since I'm on my laptop several times on any given day and anything that prohibits me from using my laptop (and by extension the web cam) usually means I have my CyberShot T700 with me anyway. I need a name for the project so... Read Full Story

Our AC system blew up last week and I had to get it fixed. Although it was a positive experience and the technician who came was excellent, a few things struck me about the service company. I had to try and recall the name of the service company that fixed the AC last year as I could not find their invoice. Although they have a website, they have done no Search Engine Optimization (SEO) so no amount of web-surfing located them until I found the exact url. Its web site includes a money-off... I flew back from Vancouver to Ottawa with Air Canada. The flight itself was fine - punctual, friendly, comfortable - but the all round experience was a little frustrating. It was an example of how you have to try and control as much of the customer's total experience as possible. The minor inconveniences included: a long, slow-moving line up for security, a long, slow-moving line up for the coffee shop, and a very tall man sitting in front of me, blocking my view of the screen and rocking... “You have been logged out due to inactivity.”
I beg your pardon? That wasn’t very friendly was it?
This error message popped up from one of the online systems at work the other day. Actually I thought I’d been pretty busy for quite a while, so this was pretty disappointing to hear.
My point here is: pay attention to the error message that come from your website. And the welcome message. And the login message.
These messages are your chance to interact with your visitors. How often do... Read Full Story
