The World's Tiniest Animals

Scientist S. Blair Hedges found the world's tiniest snake under a rock in Barbados. The non-venomous snake measures less than 4 inches long in adulthood, and is small enough to curl up on a US quarter.

Think pygmy snake is cute? Check out these other little wonders.

Ducky the Chihuahua--Boston's Ducky the Chihuahua made headlines in 2007 when he was named the smallest dog in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records. He stands 4.9 inches tall and weights 1.4 pounds. I prefer the dog's original moniker: Macho Man.

Mr. Peebles the Cat--Mr. Peebles is two years old, 15 centimeters long, and three pounds heavy. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, he's the smallest kitty in the world.

The Bee Hummingbird--The Bee Hummingbird is native to Cuba. At 2 inches long, it is the smallest of all birds, and probably the cutest.

The Pygmy Marmoset--Brazilian pygmy marmosets are the smallest monkeys in the world, measuring at 14-16 cm long. These baby marmosets are the cutest things you have ever seen in your life.
