Where Are They Now: Cy, the One-Eyed Kitten

Remember Cy?  Pictures of him began circulating on the internet last January.  Many viewers thought the pictures of the one-eyed kitten had been photoshopped, but Cy did in fact exist; he was born with holoprosencephaly, a rare condition that often results in cyclopism (I wouldn't recommend google image-searching the term).  Cy died the day after his birth, at which point owner Traci Allen preserved his body in her freezer.

Allen eventually sold Cy's tiny body to John Adolfi, who runs Lost World Museum , a bastion of creationism in Phoenix, NY.  Adolfi plans to display Cy's body as an example of negative mutation that, in his eyes, proves that mutation could never have fueled a positive concept like evolution of the species.

Sadly, those of you who eagerly anticipate going to visit the one-eyed creature will have to wait: the museum will not open until 2009.  You can still buy Daniel Action Figures on their website , though!
