CHEYENNE, Wyo.

Rep. Cynthia Lummis voted against a defense bill that is making its way through Congress.

The Wyoming Republican says certain language in the bill raises concerns about due process rights of American citizens.

The legislation would deny suspected terrorists, even U.S. citizens seized within the nation's borders, the right to trial and subject them to indefinite detention.

Lummis says it sets a troubling precedent.

The bill passed the U.S. House on a 283-135 vote Wednesday night.

The Senate was expected to approve the bill Thursday.
