Please welcome Kevin Sessums , whom we interviewed on the site earlier this year when his memoir Mississippi Sissy was published. If you missed last week's posts, Kevin is now doing theater reviews for us, and you can find links to his prior reviews at the end of this post. Those of you who read my last post on Rock ’n’ Roll know how taken I was with Sinead Cusack’s performance in dual roles in the play. My mind wandered to Cusack, in fact, while I was watching the latest Broadway... Read Full Story

Jennifer Garner’s ‘Down and Dirty’ Fight Scenes

While filming The Kingdom Jennifer Garner learned that working with director Peter Berg on a fight scene can be a grueling experience. “It was so down and dirty that [I] had scratch marks that we had to cover up on my face for the next few days,” says Garner, who plays a U.S. government agent sent to investigate a bombing in the Middle East action thriller directed by Berg. Garner, 35, and her longtime stunt double, Shauna Duggins, initially were told they wouldn’t need much rehearsal... Read Full Story

Kevin Kline and Jennifer Garner are magnificent on Broadway

From:  myitthings.com
I know that a lot has been written on a surprisingly good performance by Jennifer Garner on Broadway, but I have to add my compliments. I had a pleasure seeing Cyrano de Bergerac last night and except enjoying the classic play again, I was fascinated by actors performances. Kevin Kline is just superb, and Jennifer Garner carried her role very well (although I have to say this wasn't one of the toughest roles an actress can get on stage). After watching many Hollywood celebrities having... Read Full Story

Cyrano De Bergerac

So in French class today we watched this movie called Cyrano De Bergerac . It's about this apparently famous French dramatist/swordsman who was kinda like a Robin Hood, just with more poetry and less people-saving. Usually the movies we watch in class aren't exactly entertaining stuff, but this movie was amazing. I think the best part about it was Gerard Depardieu's acting; it just reminded me so much of Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean, the way he would run around waving his sword and... Cyrano de Bergerac (1950) (2.5/4 Stars)

From:  filmcrave.com

There are not enough scenes leaning on the comedy side to make it a good film but it is a good one. T His a... Read Full Story
