Cyrano de Bergerac is a movie all about heroic acts and acting poetically in every possible way. Cyrano himself is all about that. He sword fights makes bold statements and helps another man woo the woman he loves. Now all this does have its appeal but only in certain parts. One of my favorite stories with Gerard Depardieu who has one of my favorite noses, directed by JP Rappeneau who directed one of my favorite French films (Bon Voyage), this one is great.
