Omaha Nighthawks general manager Rick Mueller told ESPN 1620 The Zone that former Atlanta Falcons quarterback D.J. Shockley. Mueller also mentioned Jeff Garcia, Brian St. Pierre, Brad Banks, and JaMarcus Russell as possible Nighthawk quarterbacks.

Shockley has never played in an NFL game, but he has spent most of his career as the Falcons third string quarterback or on the Falcons practice squad. Shockley was drafted in the seventh round of the 2006 draft.

Shockley was a great college quarterback, but his skills never managed to translate to the NFL. Maybe he will have better luck in the United Football League.
