A $25 gift for your current soul mate is pretty cheap, honestly. It’s a price-point that falls between “nice try” and something meaningful. For example, if you get the new Dark Knight DVD it says, “You’re special, like the second cousin I see only at Christmas.” So what you don’t spend in cash, you’ll need to make up for with creativity, in my opinion. To that end, consider trying what I call, “hijacked art.” It’s simple: You find a piece of framed art and alter the painting or photograph until it looks cool. I once found a huge framed portrait of Neil Diamond at a Salvation Army and, with a black Sharpie, I transformed him into a member of KISS. By the way, I’m aware that counterculture art douches will probably point out that this already exists under a different name but I invented it, goddamnit.
