Mr. Bloom and I discussed what we wanted to give to our wedding guests as thank you favours. We decided on giving a CD to one half of a couple and a personalized shot glass to the other half.
Here is the image that I tweaked using Adobe Photoshop.
I guess I could have created my own drawing but there’s only 45 days left before the wedding! I have my hands full with DIY projects and weekends booked with other weddings, showers, and parties. I saw this lineart and thought it truly... Read Full Story
Designing a custom aisle runner for your wedding is an achievable wedding project any bride can complete in just one day.
When Denny and Jenni came to me they had already selected their wedding stationery which included a beautiful modern monogram. I was so taken with it, I suggested creating a custom aisle runner for them. This is something that is easy and inexpensive for you to do at home.
First purchase heavy white denim from your fabric store. I chose to edge this runner with... Read Full Story

The first thing most brides discuss with their wedding florist is budget, which is often followed by frustration and hopelessness because of comparisons with other people’s budgets and weddings. But don’t despair; it is possible to create a fabulous wedding look without a movie star budget. The first step is to be realistic with the budget given. For example, one bride might have $10,000 for a 100 guest wedding, while another bride has $10,000 for a 300 guest wedding. One might assume that... Read Full Story
We’ve all seen ugly wedding bubbles, but some venues won’t let you use anything else.
Start with bubble wands and pre-cut cards in your wedding color. We used printable round labels in a complimentary color and added the message, “Shower the happy couple with bubbles as they come back down the aisle for the first time as Mr and Mrs.” We cut up some of the round labels and added them to the main card with a “bubbly” result.
The cards looked pretty on the ceremony chairs and sure enough... Read Full Story
Hi, my name is Miss Bloom.
I’m a cocktail-taster-a-holic.
Yes, I’ve hit the drinks. I’ve been trying to find a signature drink for our wedding. It seems to have been a hit at the weddings that I’ve attented. Not only with the women, but the men have been drinking the concoctions especially if the cocktails are blue.
On my quest for the perfect Martini, I’ve been ordering various drinks from the pub, bar, or restaurant that I’ve found myself in. I always give Mr. Bloom a sip but he... Read Full Story
My flower girl baskets are here!
They are absolutely gorgeous. At $12 CAD a piece + combo shipping, it was a great deal. Yes, another buy from eBay. I was going to make the baskets myself. However, after tallying the cost of satin, satin and organza ribbon, charms, fancy edging, and the basket itself, it would have cost closer to $22 CAD a piece. So this time, I decided to forego the DIY project. I’m so pleased with them! They are the perfect size for my very young flower girls to... Read Full Story
Has your caterer asked you to indicate on your place cards your guests entree selections? Instead of a system of colored dots - use pre-cut cards in your colors and fun stamps. We used a plump chicken and a cow to indicate Chicken or Beef at a recent wedding. The bride’s colors were orange and red, so we picked orange cards, sparkly red ink stamps and wrote in guests names with a gel pen.
We may have been at a fancy venue, but who said we had to be stuffy? It fit the bride’s personality... Read Full Story
Here are pics of our Bridal Shower Giveaway prototype.
The glass is from our collection of glasses and not the IKEA snaps glasses.
It’s funny how the grapes and vine etching makes the beaded accent look like a snake!
Or perhaps I’ve been reading too much from the Book of Genesis looking for a reading for our wedding ceremony. =)
