In October of 2007 Da Brat was arrested after an altercation with a waitress at a night club owned by producer Jermaine Dupri. Rap mogul JERMAINE DUPRI has blasted reports he's abandoned his incarcerated protegee DA BRAT , insisting he's been in contact with letters of support. Da Brat, real name Shawntae Harris, is currently serving a three year prison sentence in Alto, Georgia following her 2008 conviction for aggravated assault. The charge stemmed from an attack on a club waitress the previous year (07).
