Ten Anime Moments of ‘08: Part 1

As the year MMVIII draws to a close, we must relelect on many things. Some pleasant, some no so pleasant, but that’s what made this year so great and historic. Anime is no execption to this rule, so for the second year in a row, Joe and I are proud to present the greastest anime moments of 2008.

Numbero X: Rumble in Tsukune’s House

Capu2 (the second season of Rosairo+Vampire) has turned into a affection war, with the four love interests crowding over one guy. This war escladed when all five parties paid a visit to Tsukune’s house in the Human World. Because the four love interests (Moka, a vampire; Kurumu, a succubus; Mizore, an ice vixen; and Yukari, a witch) all displayed affection towards Tsukune (the lone human), there is massive amounts of jealousy on all fronts. Tsukune’s mother votes for Moka, while the other four go to war other him. This scene is number 10 on the list, because it is real funny. But believe me when I say there is more to come!

Numbero IX: Kurosaki v. Kuchiki Round Three

The first battle resulted in a win for Byakuya, snatching up Rukia and leaving Ichigo in a pool of his very own blood. The second match concluded in a draw. Now the two come to this 1-1, respectfully. Fireworks sprang forth onto Guillotine Hill, the place where Rukia was to pay the ultimate price for her actions. After a battle of impressive moves, the two lined each other up for one more attack. Although the conclusion of the match technically was a draw, Ichigo claims that he beat the Apathetic Gentleman in his own game. There truly is no reason not to include this fight on  the list.

Numbero VIII: The Union Known as NaruSaku

Sometimes manga creators do a complete 180 and turn to another love story when it come time to write a new chapter. Who would’ve ever thought it? Many critics and haters stated in late 2007 that the chances of Naruto and Sakura ever seeing eye2eye was slim, at best. But, there were seriously proved wrong when Shippoden started to surface, first coming to Japan in early April, then it was here in the States in late August. Who would’ve known that a time skip would bring drastic changes? But it did. but the real change occured in Ep, 61, which Sakura grew jealous after Naruto recived the Kiss of Death by Yuka. There was not a greater time when you see many people kicking themselves and eating their words. But Joe and I thought that this was possible, because of the simple fact that Sasuke wouldn’t yeld to logic and stay in Kohona. Becasue of this, we are seeing many videos on Youtube about the Complete 180 Kishimoto-sensei pulled on all on us!

Numbero VII: Ichikia and Ichihime

There are currently two love stories of Bleach, one was natural, the other just plain weird. When Rukia came into Ichigo’s life (and his closet), an entire seires of events occured. Within a span of a year and a half, she made friends in his school, hung out with his friends, and almost taken the attention away from Orihime, who was the first one to openly confess feelings for Ichigo. Although the ‘Question’ seriously brought the two stories to a conflict, the evidence is mostly relying upon most end scenes, in which Rukia runs towards Ichigo. This proves to be one of the most well-guarded secrets in anime right now, as Kubo-sensei at the moment is keeping his mouth shut.

Numbero VI: Another One of the Genius

Joe and I are big fans of Slam Dunk, and for a reason. It’s just too doggone funny! Inoue-sensei knows this. But recently I read another one of his manga, his most recent project, Real. It’s the story of a group of individuals who are very different execpt their love of basketball. Real is the definition of Aniphilosophy, as it is all about real life. There is never a manga which I read, that invokes real life like this.
