Britney Spears Makes It Tough On Her Lawyers

Britney Spears was a no-show in court this morning - and who could blame her after the busy day that she had yesterday. The pop tart shopped, ate, shopped some more, and even exposed her privates for all the paparazzi to see.

But getting back to the legal matters, the hearing set for this morning was due to an emergency court motion filed by Spears, seeking to allow for expanded visitation rights with her two boys, including overnight stays.

Federline’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan was on the scene this morning, and briefly spoke to press before making his way behind closed doors.

“Please let me in so I can talk to you later,” he said as he made his way through the crowd, adding that K-Fed had no plans of attending.

On Wednesday, Kaplan had criticized Spears’ new motion, pointing out that “the judge’s decision ordering her to relinquish custody of the children was barely a week old.”

“I don’t see any emergency or any new facts (in the case),” said Kaplan, adding, “We are going to oppose this.”

Meanwhile, Britney’s attorney did not immediately return a call for comment - as she’s probably busy explaining to her client the importance of either wearing underwear, keeping the legs closed, or both, if possible.

Update: At the conclusion of today’s meeting, lawyers for both parties have “indicated they need to meet further, and will contact the court at a later date,” according to Judge Scott M. Gordon. So, no sleepovers with Mom and the boys just yet.
