Dale Earnhardt Jr. says Danica Patrick would be good for NASCAR, but there's nothing new to report on the IndyCar star joining his team. Dale Earnhardt Jr. has finished better in the fall race at Texas Motor Speedway than he has in the spring race in three of the four seasons since the track added a second NASCAR Cup date, which should breed more optimism for the team that finished 20th at Texas earlier this season as they head into Sunday's Dickies 500.

JR Motorsports announced on Thursday that Tony Eury Jr., who in June was replaced as Dale Earnhardt Jr's crew chief in the Sprint Cup series, was named crew chief for the No. 5 Nationwide Series car co-owned by NASCAR's most popular driver.  

I just caught this piece over at the Sporting News.  Dale Earnhardt Sr's car owner, Richard Childress, said recently that despite Junior's terrible performance in 2009 he is confident that Dale Earnhardt Junior will win the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship someday.
