At 15-11 for the season, the Dallas Mavericks are a bit off their mark. Sure, it hasn’t been the brightest start for the NBA defending champions but so far, these guys have proved that maybe, if they can get Dirk Nowitzki to get back on track, the Mavericks could actually have a real chance of defending their title. Nowitzki was a key player against the Denver Nuggets, finishing the night with 25 points and helping the Mavericks put an end to a three-game skid. Sure enough the Denver Nuggets...Read Full Story
Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki will sit out the next four games to engage in a week of behind-the-scenes conditioning work to strengthen his sore right knee.
Carlisle said Nowitzki needs “an uninterrupted eight days of work to resolve some physical issues and conditioning issues.” He emphasized that the break is designed to help Nowitzki, who is expected to return Jan. 29 against San Antonio, get into better game shape.
The Mavs coach said Nowitzki would prefer to keep playing but...Read Full Story
He’s averaged 23 ppg and 8.4 rpg for his career. He’s shot 47.6% from the field, 38.1% from three and 87.7% from the line for his career. Dirk Nowitzki is four victories away from finally winning that elusive NBA championship ring. (ASSOCIATED PRESS)
For the majority of Dirk Nowitzki’s career, he’s been labeled soft. Why? Just look at his body of work. There’s nothing about him that looks imposing or intimidating.
He is a 7-footer who prefers to play away from the basket and settle for jump shots rather than drive in for power dunks. He goes down faster than Michael Spinks on the first sign of physical contact, and he doesn...Read Full Story
