Danica Sue Patrick is an American auto racing driver competing in the Indy Racing League. According to Wikipedia: She was born in Beloit, Wisconsin, to an Irish-American family and was raised in Roscoe, Illinois. She was named Rookie of The Year in the 2005 IRL Championship. Although she has "won" several pole positions in qualifying, she has never won a major auto race. In May 2006, she published her autobiography, Danica: Crossing the Line.

Danica Wins At Indy

Danica Patrick made history by becoming the first woman to win an Indy Car Race on this past Sunday.
She defeated two-time Indy 500 winner and Dancing with the Stars champ Hélio Castroneves by nearly six seconds to take home the first place trophy at the Indy Japan 300.
Patrick covered 200 laps at the 1.52-mile course in one hour, 51 minutes.

Congrats Danica! Now if only you could get those Indy people to design more flattering outfits.
