First Official Look at Daniel Craig in New Bond Film ‘Skyfall’

Bond Is Back!

James Bond’s 007 will return in… Skyfall. OK, so the name of the next Bond movie wasn’t an instant hit, but today 007.com released the first official photo featuring Daniel Craig in the new movie. Back in January we reported on last month’s pic, showing Bond by the side of a pool sporting those famous blue shorts from Casino Royale. It was later revealed to have been “leaked” online, so we can safely say that this new, moodier shot is the first proper image to emerge from the official website.

There are a few key things we can pick out from this new photo. Bond appears older and more rugged, but then it has been four years since Quantum of Solace. Perhaps the prospect of M’s replacement puts him and his fellow agents in danger? Luckily he’s still got his trusty Walther PPK, an iconic weapon associated with 007 since the first Bond film, Dr. No back in 1962. Bond has also grown a bit of facial hair, but at least this beard is tidier than the one Pierce Brosnan had at the start of Die Another Day. This new photo also shows Bond investigating in Shanghai, with Pinewood doubling for the exotic Chinese locale.

Lots of other photos have been released thanks to @007, the official Twitter feed of the James Bond films. However thisis perhaps the most exciting and revealing for Bond fans and moviegoers anticipating the latest film in this action packed franchise.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the series, MGM have announced a complete 22 film blu-ray collection, due to hit shops on 1st October 2012. Skyfall is scheduled for a UK release on 26th October 2012.
