This poem is the first non-rhyming poem that I created. It’s a personal poem about some of the abuse I endured during my childhood. It only took me until the age of fourteen for me to be broken down to the point where I believed all the horrible things said about me. It took me many years to reclaim my sense of self-worth. Innocence Lost in Auschwitz A twelve year old girl joined the “she” ranks All lined up like packaged meat at the military store. Heartless soldiers drooled for their next meal. Naked and innocent their eyes stared through their harsh faces. Who would absorb their animalistic need? Sarah was quickly chosen and highly favored.
