Rodgers talked to reporters outside MetroHealth after doctors treated him for a minor wound on his right elbow. He was then released from the hospital a few hours after the shooting.
"I was walking up the stairway and like a whole bunch of kids were coming down the stairway," Rodgers said. "I knew something was wrong, but I thought it was probably just a fight, so I just kept going.
"I never thought it would happen at my school," Rodgers said.
