Police received a call at 1:41 p.m. of a person shot in the west alley on the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue, said Cmdr. James Elliot, of the Evanston Police Department's criminal investigations bureau. Police later identified the victim as Darryl Shannon Pickett, a resident of the 1900 block of Hartrey Avenue.
