Daryl K Resort 2011 Womenswear Collection
The designer was probably thinking of her own concept about the downtown girly style when she just decided to show it up for the fashion world. The collection came of pretty colored garments that showed her own way of designing and a matter of creation as well. The many skinny pants and the bold liquid blouses could show more freedom as well; something that every woman seeks in her clothes. Many elegant styles, good use of colors through skinny pants, slim jodhpurs; and a wide variety of fabrics that resulted in a fantastic, youthful collection.
The color black was mastering her collection for unknown reasons, though it should be a youthful collection and not for old ladies…perhaps because it is bold and giving an elegant look? The question was roaming many minds during the runway. She cared much of the short dresses, and especially the black ones. She used lace, tulle and few other transparent fabrics within her dresses; as if she wanted to highlight those designs, and truly she did design them well.
Leather can also be considered as an important feature in this collection. It showed up as hot shorts, pants and cropped jackets. The cropped jackets were paired black chiffon dresses and mini hot shorts worn under chiffon or lace blouses. Another pretty feature was the elegant short dresses of one long side that were layered under similar color chiffon fabrics. They were looking so formal and suitable for dinners or special occasions.
