Dave Matthews Band is an American rock band, originally formed in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1991 by singer and guitarist Dave Matthews, saxophonist LeRoi Moore, bassist Stefan Lessard, violin player Boyd Tinsley, drummer Carter Beauford, and keyboardist Peter Griesar. Recently, LeRoi Moore passed away, inspiring DMB's most recent album, "Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King."

Dave Matthews Band ’s Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King , an album recorded in response to the tragic death of longtime saxophonist LeRoi Moore, was one of the big surprises at tonight’s announcement of the nominations for the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards.
