Dave Matthews Band is an American rock band, originally formed in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1991 by singer and guitarist Dave Matthews, saxophonist LeRoi Moore, bassist Stefan Lessard, violin player Boyd Tinsley, drummer Carter Beauford, and keyboardist Peter Griesar. Recently, LeRoi Moore passed away, inspiring DMB's most recent album, "Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King."

The new Dave Matthews Band CD, Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King, is kind of hit or miss. But the hits are really, really good. The album is dedicated to LeRoi Moore, their great saxophone player who was killed in an accident in August, 2008. His nickname was the GrooGrux King. They've replaced him with two horns, a sax and a trumpet, which really does help expand the sound (and I love horn lines anyway). Here are a couple of live performance...

Best episode ever?
Of the season, I mean. I had a feeling ahead of time that Joseph Gordon-Levitt could pull off a good show--I liked him on 3rd Rock from the Sun and if, as a kid, he could be funny next to French Stewart (and I guess, John Lithgow too) I figured he might be able to pull off at the very least an energetic performance on SNL. I liked that in his monologue he made fun of his indie darling status and then really worked his ass...
