David Blaine’s Stunt Tonight on ABC: Is David Blaine Cheating? (Video)

David Blaine hangs upsdie down for Dive of Death - is he cheating?
David Blaine: Dive of Death airs tonight (September 24) at 9 p.m. ET on ABC - but is David Blaine cheating at his latest stunt?

While hanging upside down, as David Blaine is doing in Central Park, for 60 hours is an amazing feat (I don’t know, is it?) - he isn’t doing so continuosly. Does the lack of nonstop hanging upside down mean that David Blaine is cheating? Check out the video after the jump to see Blaine upright.

Here’s the scoop - people have been reporting that David Blaine’s upside down stunt actually has him in an upright position for 10-15 minutes many times throughout the day - to take a drink, pee and have vitals taken by a doctor before resuming his head down position.

Here’s video footage of David Blaine standing on a platform for a water break:

David Blaine’s rep said of the breaks:

“About once an hour he has to come down for a medical check, to stretch, and to relieve himself, because even David Blaine can’t do that upside down. He has said all along that there will be times when he must get his head above his heart. The doctors told him if he doesn’t do that, he will die.”

Even if there is cheating involved in the stunt, is it worth tuning in tonight to see “Dive of Death” - when he’ll walk a tightrope with electromagnetic shoes (and no net!) before making a dramatic plunge? Meh. Not so sure I’ll be tuning in.
