I’m retelling this story because I was right, and because I think it’s intriguing given that David Garrard was flat CUT by the Jacksonville Jaguars with days left until their opener.
It was November 2009. My wife was in a foreign country with a mission group from our church, and she told me I should take the kids to Disney World. We’re Disney people, so that’s not a big deal, and it was a GREAT trip. I was driving back on a Sunday, and there wasn’t much on the radio, but, in north...Read Full Story
It seems that right now, free agent quarterback David Garrard isn’t in a hurry to get back on the football field.
According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the reason the Dolphins weren’t able to sign Garrard was because he just doesn’t want to play football right now.
Garrard is content with sitting out the season so he can relax and spend some quality time with his family and then hit the free agent market in March.
If Garrard is financially secure right now, I don’t blame...Read Full Story
During Thursday night’s camp practice, Jaguars quarterback David Garrard suffered a back injury and was taken off the field.
Afterword, coach Jack Del Rio told Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union, “David’s back got a little tight, so we’re just icing him down. He’ll get treatment and all that. But he should be fine, so nothing major there. He came to me after the first team period, then to Mike Ryan, and said it was getting tight. It’s not the time to push through that kind of thing...Read Full Story
Jacksonville is not a “David Garrard friendly” place right now. His owner, coach and teammates have all called him out and demanded that he get better.

I’m just more manly than you, so get over it) the Jacksonville broadcasters were killing Garrard ON THE GAME BROADCAST. No one in Jville seems to like him. Sucks to be David–and I actually...Read Full Story

Getting axed as the Jacksonville Jaguars starting quarterback wasn’t the only hit David Garrard took in 2011. He and his wife, Mary Knox Garrard, sold their Glen Kernan home in early December for $1.8 million, according to public records.
They paid $2.9 million for the home in 2008 and took a mortgage on it for $1.8 million. The three-story house was built in 2007, and includes four bedrooms and five bathrooms — 7,751 square feet, including...
After undergoing recent back surgery, former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback David Garrard is spending the holidays focused on a battle against a physical setback — a battle that someone else has to fight.
Danijela Hughey is a 26-year-old single mother with breast cancer. Unable to work because of the disease and trying to raise a 2-year-old son, her struggle is one that resonates with Garrard.
