Germany's Zsolt Erdei has won the WBC cruiserweight world title belt with a majority decision to dethrone former champion Giacobbe Fragomeni. Hungarian-born Erdei was awarded the fight 115-113, 115-113, 114-114 by the three judges after the fight went the full 12 rounds in front of 4,000 fans in Kiel on Saturday night. The victory leaves Erdei, 35, with an unblemished record of 31 wins and 17 knock-outs. Nikolai Valuev retained his WBA heavyweight title with an 11th-round stoppage of American challenger Monte Barrett in Chicago. You have to feel for Monte Barrett. Not only did he receive a battering from David haye on Saturday but he also managed to trip when getting into the ring. Attempting into jump impressively over the ropes he got his feet tangled up and ended up looking a little silly.....not that I'd say that to his face! Read Full Story
