Some people make clothes because of a drive to dress the world or to fill a niche, but the men behind Rag & Bone, Marcus Wainwright and David Neville, just wanted to create functional well-made fashion for their friends.
Marcus Wainwright and David Neville dove into the fashion industry learning how to cut, sew and create patterns from people who had been creating clothing for years in garment factories. They had their sights set on creating jeans and denim clothing with their high standards of quality. Two years later Rag & Bone launched their first line.
Fast forward a few short years,
Rag & Bone has expanded from a menswear line to a full fashion outlet including menswear, womenswear, children’s wear, footwear and accessories known for their modern take on fashion classics.
Rag & Bone has managed to become Oh So British and Oh so Cool all at the same time. This is why theirs is one of the hottest fashion lines RIGHT now!Put it this way, in eight years the Rag & Bone designers went from nothing to winning Menswear Designers of the Year at the CFDA Awards this year. This is huge in the industry!
And they show no signs of slowing down; their fall/winter 2010collection was widely
acknowledged as their strongest so far. Separates with British and menswear influence created a modern look with a classic feel. Tweed, kilts, plaid shirts, shearling show the influence of 20th century British explorers and capture the IT British cool chic moment of Alexa Chung and company.
