  David Poole, the NASCAR’s  motorsports columnist for the Charlotte Observer, died Tuesday of a heart attack at 50. Charlotte Observer NASCAR reporter, David Poole, had a heart attack in his Stanfield home. Poole’s daughter called 911 and he was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Longtime NASCAR writer David Poole passed away due to a heart attack on April 28, 2009 a the age of 50. He died at his home in Stanfield, North Carolina.
