Dawn Wells , the actress who played Mary Ann on " Gilligan's Island ," was busted with marijuana in her car after driving home from her 69th birthday party in Idaho . Ms. Wells was pulled over on October 18, 2007 after a Teton County sheriff noticed her swerve across the center lines of State Highway 33 and repeatedly speeding up and slowing down. A search produced four half-smoked joints and two small cases to store marijuana -- which she blamed on hitchhikers. Wells is now serving six months of unsupervised probation for the crime. Dawn Wells, aka Mary Ann from one of the TV show’s I grew up on, Gilligan’s Island, has been busted for the kind herb marijuana.  From the AP: A surprise birthday party for Dawn Wells, the actress who played Mary Ann on "Gilligan’s Island," ended with a nearly three-hour tour of the Teton County sheriff’s office and jail when the 69-year-old was caught with marijuana in her vehicle while driving home. Wells is now serving six months’ unsupervised probation for the crime. She was sentenced Feb. 29 to five days in jail, fined $410.50 and placed on probation after pleading guilty to one count ... I can't get over the fact that Dawn Wells, aka Mary Ann from "Gilligan's Island," was arrested for marijuana possession. She's 69 years old for goodness sakes. Wells was returning from her surprise birthday party when Idaho police pulled her over for swerving across lanes. They found four partially smoked joints in her car. Mary Ann (it's kinda like her alter ego now or something) said hitch hikers left the weed behind. She's an actress, not a writer people.
