The Day of the Dead is also called Dia de los Muertos, Dia de los Difuntos or Dia de Muertos in Spanish. It is a Catholic celebration of the memory of deceased ancestors that is celebrated on November 1st (All Saints Day) and November 2nd (All Souls Day).

Crowds of people marched and danced with a Dia de los Muertos parade through Market Square on Nov. 2. The Las Monas dance group lead the parade, which was organized by the Museo Alameda.
