Bengals-Colts Review

By Cartman on  From bengalsgab.com
It was a very impressive show by the Bengal offense Thursday night as the final cuts just got even more difficult for the coaching staff and Owner Mike Brown.  With the first-teamers getting very few, if any, snaps, it was the back-ups that shined; each making their individual cases to stay on the team.  The 30-28 Bengals victory proved that the team can, in fact, occasionally score points, and that the back-ups could play with confidence.  On Thursday, we reviewed the more interesting...Read Full Story

Cobra Commander Bengals Blog

By Cartman on  From bengalsgab.com
I envision the Bengals’ headquarters, where shrewd maneuvering and important decisions are made, built secretly into a mountain side like that of Cobra Commander’s hideout. Here Mike Brown consults with Destro and Mr. Commander himself, on ways to rule more tyrannically. “I’m losing my touch,” he admits to the others. They laugh at him in those exaggerated cartoon voices. He sulks and resigns Darryl Blackstock. I thought signing Blackstock last season was worth a try, but throughout the...Read Full Story

Preseason Recap of Week Two

By Cartman on  From bengalsgab.com
Offense: The NFL is as trendy as a teen clothing-store at the mall, and the current fad on display around the league is the 3-4 defense. The Bengals will face a 3-4 defense 11 times throughout their schedule including five in a row to open the season. In order to prepare and coach against the “cool” kids and their sexy formations, the Bengals must have been pleased to defeat a stout version of the 3-4 from New England on Thursday night. With Carson Palmer on the sidelines in sweatpants, J.T...Read Full Story

Bengals Hope the Kick Return Game will Be Explosive in 2009

By Cartman on  From nflgridirongab.com
In football, the kick return represents a new beginning. The offense and their fans are able to wipe clean the mistakes of the past and look ahead to the current possession with hope and sometimes desperation. Bengals rookie running back and kick-return candidate, Bernard Scott, knows a thing or two about new beginnings. Scott bounced around to different college teams, putting up monster numbers along the way. His former coaches and NFL scouts rave about his talent and abilities. He ran a 4...Read Full Story

Making The Case For Four Running Backs

By Cartman on  From bengalsgab.com
By Saturday afternoon, all NFL teams are required to pare their preseason rosters down from 75 players to the maximum 53 for week one. This time of year is never easy for any NFL front office, but it is particularly tough and interesting this year for the Cincinnati Bengals. Difficult decisions loom for Marvin Lewis and his staff at safety, linebacker, and defensive line. For the first time in ages, the Bengals have multiple position groups overstocked with real NFL quality talent, and some...Read Full Story

Vikings Tried To Land DeDe Dorsey

By Cartman on  From vikingsgab.com
DeDe Dorsey recently signed with the Detroit Lions.  The choice to go to Detroit for Dorsey as starter Kevin Smith suffered an injury that could open up a chance for Dorsey to start in 2010. A nugget of info in this report of the move, however, mentions that both the Rams and the Vikings made Dorsey an offer. This has led to some speculation that the Vikings are preparing for life without Chester Taylor and I think that assumption is spot on. The Vikings were a final four team in 2009 meaning...Read Full Story
