Roger Clemens linked to Mindy McCready

It has been confirmed, through Roger Clemens' lawyer Rusty Hardin, that Clemens has had a long-term relationship with former country star Mindy McCready. Clemens denies the relationship was sexual, but Clemens denies a lot of things that are more than likely true.

Still, this relationship in general borders on obscene, seeing as Clemens befriended McCready when she was only 15-years-old. At the time, he was 28-years-old and a married father of two.

McCready is now 32-years-old, and has had a number of run-ins with the law. This past December, she was released from jail after serving a year sentence for violating probation on a 2004 drug arrest. She is currently serving two years probation.

The story of their relationship first broke this past Sunday, on the Daily News' Website, and appeared in their print edition today. It quoted several people close to Clemens and McCready, who confirmed the relationship, and stated the baseball star allegedly, sent cash to the troubled country star to help with her legal issues. The article also states Clemens reached out to McCready as recently as last year, when she was serving time in a Tennessee prison.

Still, Clemens maintains the decade long relationship was nothing more than a guy helping a family friend. But you still have to be a little suspicious about a grown man who befriends teenagers.

Either way, true or not, this is just another case of real life putting a dent in the downward spiraling career and reputation of Clemens. Boo hoo.
