The Deccan Mujahideen is an Islamit terrorist group that has claimed responsibility for the Nov. 26, 2008, Mumbai hotel rampage that left dozens dead and hundreds wounded. The group may be related to the Indian Mujahideen. Deccan refers to the Deccan Plateau in southern India.

A ccording to police, at least 101 people were killed and 314 wounded in yesterday's attacks in Mumbai , India . The attackers, who were reportedly armed with AK-47 assault rifles and hand grenades, have taken hostages at three locations. It is still unclear how many gunmen there were, but police say that at least nine of them have been killed in fighting. CNN-IBN quoted a source as saying there may have been 26 gunmen. So often when I hear the word terrorist I think of some raving lunatic with a long scruffy beard...hollow empty eyes....someone that you'd probably run the other way if you saw walking toward you in broad daylight on the busiest of streets. It's not until you're actually able to put a face with a person...be it victim or perpetrator that reality really sinks in and proves to you that things aren't always what you conjure up in your head. NEW DELHI: Three-wheeler autos in the capital have come under the security scanner after the terror siege of Mumbai. According to highly placed government sources, there are intelligence inputs on the possible use of autos for triggering a blast in a crowded area of Delhi. Reuters states that at least 80 people have been killed and that, "An organisation calling itself the Deccan Mujahideen claimed it was behind attacks". CNN television is already stating as fact that the Mumbai attacks were funded and supported by foreign sources, implicating Pakistan where President-elect Obama promised to take the so-called "war on terrorism" when he assumes office in January.
