On outdoor fountains and good fortune

You may believe it or not but most people think having outdoor fountains in their homes bring good fortune. Says who? – Feng Shui!

For those of you who are not yet familiar with the term, feng shui (read as fung'-shway) has its origin from the Ancient Chinese system of aesthetics whose principles merge the laws of Heaven (astronomy) and Earth (geography). Literally, the word translates as “wind-water” in English and is considered by many to be accurate.

Showcasing the water element, it is actually not a wonder why fountains – whether they are wall fountains or floor fountains – are one of the most famous and in demand feng shui products. This is in belief that as a bearer of the water energy, these décors symbolize abundance, prosperity, and purity. And because of this notion, many believers of feng shui also think that installing a fountain in either their homes or offices will not bring good luck in their family or business but to their health, career, and path in life as well.

As it showcases the energy of a flowing water, many feng shui supporters perceive wall fountains to yield positive qi that in return magnets abundance. This may be the reason why five-star hotels, high-edge spas, and the like seem to depict this seemingly unseen aura of strength and success. Thus, leaving a good impression to prospective clients eventually leading to a good business.

However, for those who are already considering of getting a water fountain in their homes, there is one thing though that you should remember aside from the fountain’s location (whether they’re on the north, south, east, or west side of your house). To ensure positive energy streaming in your homes, it is important that your fountain is running 24 hours a day – meaning you do not turn it off – to prevent the water from being stagnant. That is why most feng shui experts suggest to close the toilet lids and bathroom doors to prevent the stagnant water from these areas from negatively influencing the feng shui in your home.

There is indeed more to indoor wall mounted fountains than being center pieces in corporations and homes. From decorations, they transcend as one’s inspiration to work hard and persevere for an abundant and prosperous life.
