Gold Delta SkyMiles Credit Card Review

Delta Airlines - Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card
If you had to guess which airline transports the most passengers every year, would your answer be Delta?  Well if it was, you’d be absolutely right as Delta Airlines continues to carry more passengers each year than any other airline.  I can tell you I’ve flown Delta a few times, without any problems or delays and if I had the excellent credit needed to own an airline miles credit card, the Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card would definitely be in my wallet (lousy student loans!).

New members of the Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card will earn 20,000 bonus miles after making their first purchase, and another 2,500 bonus miles for each authorized cardholder added (up to two).  Those 25,000 miles are good enough for a free flight on Delta and when you own this card, your first checked bag is always fee.  In fact, up to nine members of your travel party can have their first bag checked for free, so if flying in a group, you can potentially save $225 each way.

Two miles are earned for every dollar spent on Delta purchases and one mile is earned for every dollar spent on all other purchases.  Cardholders of the Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card will also receive a 20% savings on eligible in-flight purchases of food, alcoholic beverages, movies, television shows, video games and audio headsets, which is a nice added perk I cannot find on any other airline mile credit card.

Here are a few other added benefits of owning the Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card:

  • Each year you will receive an annual $99 Companion Certificate
  • Receive Zone 2 priority boarding on Delta flights
  • Using your card covers eligible purchases from theft, damage, and loss, up to $1,000 per occurrence, for up to 90 days

A variable purchase APR of 15.24% – 19.24% can be found on the Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card and if you’re late a few times with payment, you could fall into the penalty APR of 27.24%.  The purchase APR you’ll receive depends on just how excellent your credit is and the $95 annual fee is not charged until year number two … giving you some time to decide if this card is right for you.

As far as airline credit cards go, the Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card is definitely one of the best.  A nice up-front bonus with a good rewards program, great perks and an “OK” APR makes this a must own for anyone that flies Delta airlines more than just once or twice a year.  The amount of money saved on flights and checked bags is easily in the hundreds of dollars annually (if not thousands for frequent fliers) and to own this card, visit the Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card application page using any link found within.
