Following news of a possible plot against the life of presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, the Democratic National Convention in Denver is continuing on schedule.

Day 1 highlights included a speech by Michelle Obama and an appearance by Senator Ted Kennedy who gave a speech despite his current battle with cancer.
