A man accused of making statements about assassinating then-presidential candidate Barack Obama during the Democratic National Convention in Denver last year pleaded guilty Friday to a firearms possession charge in federal court.

It’s being reported that the DNC has begun contacting cities about the possibility of hosting the 2012 Democratic National Convention. This got me thinking, why not here in Ohio? Well, let’s take a look at where it’s been the last few times first… Year City 1968 Chicago 1972 Miami 1976 New York City 1980 New York City 1984 San Francisco 1988 Atlanta 1992 New York City 1996 Chicago 2000 Los Angeles 2004 Boston 2008...  

The 1880 Democratic National Convention met in Cincinnati, nominating General Winfield Scott Hancock and former Congressman William English. They opposed Ohio's own James Garfield. I don't see Cleveland, Pittsburgh or Columbus being real contenders for the Democratic convention. They just don't have the hotel space necessary for the very large Democratic convention. Apparently, people aren't finding Joe Biden all that entertaining as vice president. Gallup reports: After peaking at 59% last November, Vice President Joe Biden's favorable rating continues to decline and now stands at 42%. That barely exceeds his 40% unfavorable rating, and is easily his worst evaluation since last year's Democratic National Convention.
