The Broncos have some hard road to travel on right now. Chargers have been playing well, and have equaled the Broncos record. This game is now about leading the AFC West, and more. The more part is what I am worried about, not the AFC West. I heard that Chris Simms will be playing for Kyle Orton instead of the talented Tom Brandstater, and I wonder why McDaniels is making that choice. Chris is talented too, but in all likelyhood will never have the long term usefullness of Brandstater. Will we see Tom after about 3 or 4 series of downs? I hope so ... Read Full Story

With a quarter of the NFL season behind us, who are the two most surprising teams thus far?  San Francisco 49ers vs Buffalo Bills 2009 Josh McDaniels Broncos coach The most surprising team in my opinion is the Denver Broncos. No one predicted the Broncos would start 4-0. With the departure of Jay Cutler, the hiring of a new head coach in Josh McDaniels and the pouting of talented wide receiver Brandon Marshall, many people predicted the Broncos would have a hard time winning more than just a couple of games this season. So why are they playing so well? The main reason is ... Read Full Story

Chris Simms is starting an NFL game for the first time since he was nearly killed in a game three years ago. The Denver Broncos' backup quarterback got to nod over hobbled starter Kyle Orton, whose sprained ankle kept him out of practice all week. Orton threw a few passes at Invesco Field this morning but after several minutes went back into the locker room.

Last week the Denver Broncos started out on fire against the Washington Redskins. Quarterback Kyle Orton threw two early first quarter touchdowns to Brandon Marshall, and it looked like the Broncos would roll to victory. However, later in the game Orton sprained his ankle and missed the rest of the contest.

Kyle Orton missed a third consecutive practice Friday with a sprained left ankle. Coach Josh McDaniels says the Denver Broncos quarterback's availability for Sunday's pivotal contest with San Diego will come down to a game-time decision. Backup Chris Simms again took first-team practice repetitions, as he has all week in the absence of Orton, who was injured during last week's 27-17 loss at Washington.

Out of love for my team, I am going to criticize my team today. I named my site Broncos Culture because I wanted it to focus on the culture change taking place under Josh McDaniels. Sadly, this past pathetic loss has seriously made me question how much the culture really has changed with the Denver Broncos. Here are some thoughts and observations: 1. Denver is doing what they have done the past three years. The Broncos get all of their fans...

Kyle Orton isn't practicing as the Denver Broncos install their game plan for the San Diego Chargers. Backup Chris Simms took the snaps at practice Wednesday because of Orton's bum ankle. Orton is holding out hope he'll start Sunday. He was knocked out of the Broncos' 27-17 loss at Washington last weekend with a sprained left ankle and replaced by a rusty Simms.
