Derek Jeter: Should he still move to first base?

Before this year started, a lot of writers said that Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees should move to first base because he’s no longer a good defensive short stop. They’ve put together all of these graphs by Dave Pinto, SAFE from Bill James, zone ratings and a whole bunch of other nonsense. They’ve said he never threw the ball to first base with his feet set and jumped up and threw the ball too many times.

Now how do you feel? He just won the gold glove. Did he deserve it? Do some of the writers in the past who criticized Derek Jeter think the award is a farce?

I feel Derek Jeter did very well this year and I don’t remember his play at short stop hurting the Yankees in anyway. Instead, he made some outstanding plays. I can’t remember them all but I do know that Jeter did not hurt the Yankees.
