Dirk Facer, for the Chicago Sun-Times, reports:
Derrick Rose is getting better. The injured right ankle that has slowed him since the preseason is on the mend.
Monday in Portland, Rose opened the second half by elevating over Greg Oden for his first dunk of the season.

But I've been watching Chicago play a lot this year (and last), and I'm pretty confident when I say that if Jerryd Bayless were to take over the starting PG spot for the Bulls, he would contribute...

Derrick Rose sliding slowly into....
Irrelevancy....now I'm not saying he's not in the mix for Team USA, but in this lengthy article where tons of names are dropped, he's nowhere to be seen.
Colangelo says he's looking at Brandon Jennings, Blake Griffin, even Kevin Love.....
Now, I'll bet Rose still gets an invite to the 25-player minicamp but could he make a 15-man Team USA roster right now?

It's even more telling that he's...

Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose has a listed height of 6'3", making him a full nine inches shorter than Portland center Greg Oden. But that didn't stop him when the former first overall draft picks faced off momentarily in last night's game between the Bulls and the Trail Blazers. Early in the third quarter, with Portland holding a commanding 66-51 lead, Rose drove to the basket and unleashed a powerful dunk on Oden. It wasn't a bad...

"I’m not getting no haircut," Derrick Rose was saying Wednesday after practice at USC. "I’m not touching my hair anymore until I get back on track. I’m just trying to change something. Derrick Rose says: "Not yet," he said after the Bulls shootaround Tuesday morning. "I still haven't been feeling aggressive yet, but you'll probably see it in [Tuesday night against the Sacramento Kings]. I'm going to come out and just try to fight and be way, way more aggressive."
That and maybe Salmons will get that Sacramento feel again?

Chicago 98, Portland 122: Greg Oden has one of his best games as a pro - 24 points and 12 rebounds - but the outstanding performance (7-of-8 shooting, six offensive rebounds, two blocks) will be marred by the above slam by Derrick Rose, and after the jump, the facial that Joakim Noah delivered to the [...]

Every year, we have these baby fresh rookies come into the league trying to make an impact right away.
Last year we saw the likes of Derrick Rose, O.J. Mayo, Michael Beasley, and Kevin Love, just to name a few, show why the are going to be in this league for years to come.
But, for every Derrick Rose there is a Danilo Gallinari, who, because of injuries or hard time adjusting to the NBA type of game, makes people scratch their heads.
For me...

These two teams were expected to be evenly matched, and they proved to be. That is, until the fourth quarter, when the Heat had Dwyane Wade and the Bulls have nothing of the sort.
They do have Derrick Rose, who should be somewhat similar to the sort, at the very least in terms of a late-game role...
