The abomination at Arrowhead was all part of “the plan."
So was the loss to the Bengals the week earlier.
The Steelers have set out to lull the rest of the AFC playoff field into a false sense of security. Any time now, they will spring their trap.
After all, no team can possibly give up four kickoff returns in five weeks, right?
That must have been intentional.
Maybe the special teams were just itching to set a record. Maybe they were feeling...

- Pittsburgh Steelers AFC Wild Card Playoff Possibilities (behindthesteelcurtain.com)
They are the two most visible faces of tough-guy football, as personified by James Harrison's snarling and Ray Lewis' meanness. Fittingly, the weather routinely is cold and nasty when they meet, or much like the attitude each carries for the other. Toughness isn't an option when the Ravens and Steelers meet, it's a requirement.

Troy Aikman should be ashamed of himself for as poor of a job he did broadcasting Pittsburgh's 37-36 win over Green Bay in Week 15. I have always thought he's without question the most...

IX- Remember in 2006 when the Steelers came storming back in to playoff contention after starting the year 2-6? Please, please, please let that not be the case on Sunday - at least let us see yet...

Sweed, a former second-round draft pick, is on the reserve non-football illness list. Warren, a fifth-year pro, has been placed on the reserve/injured list. He injured his right knee after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament on the final play of Sunday's game against Green Bay.

When a weary Mike Tomlin arrived home from the Steelers' 37-36 victory over the Packers, 8-year-old Dino popped the same question to his dad that much of Pittsburgh was asking. Why did you try that onside kick? According to the Steelers coach, his son got the politically incorrect answer. "I just told him to be quiet," Tomlin said, laughing, on Tuesday.

503 yards passing. Peyton Manning or Drew Brees? Not a surprise. But a 503-yard game -- and in a win, no less -- by the Pittsburgh Steelers, traditionally the NFL's strongest proponents of knock-'em-down, run-'em-over football? Believe it. Finally, after years of traveling by foot or by Bus (as in Jerome Bettis), the Steelers are part of the NFL's jet age.
