Phoenix G Diana Taurasi spent a day in jail prior to departing to Russia to join her Spartak Moscow team. The incarceration stemmed from a July traffic stop in Phoenix where the WNBA's MVP was cited for extreme DUI and speeding. Those charges were dropped after a judge suspended nine days of Taurai's sentence, leaving just the DUI. Taurasi's blood-alcohol level was 0.17 percent -- twice the legal limit in Arizona (0.08 percent).  

The 2010 FIBA World Championship for Women will be held next September and October in the Czech Republic, and the Phoenix Mercury are very well represented. As of now, two players from the WNBA champion Mercury, Diana Taurasi and Cappie Pondexter, will be donning the red, white and blue for Team USA next fall. FIBA has also [...]

Taurasi, an all-star guard on the WNBA champions, spent a day in jail after a judge suspended nine days of her sentence. Taurasi's blood-alcohol level was 0.17 percent when she was pulled over on July 2 following a 93-81 victory over the Seattle Storm.
