Several tips for new digital photographers
The meaning of digital photography
Digital photography is a variety of photography that uses digital technology to develop photos of the topics you have selected. Digital pictures could be displayed, printed, saved, dealt with, transferred, and filed away using digital and computer technology, without chemical processing comparing to the old method of processing the photos.
Begin with digital photography
First and foremost, select a camera. In general, the digital camera with at least 4 mega-pixel resolution and a 3x optical zoom is advized. Digital SLR camera is recommended because of its flexibility so that you can alter the lens to suit the type of photography you desire to take if your budget allows.
Secondly, optical zoom is recommended. The scene of you photos can be captured by the capacity of the actual optics in the lens of the optical zoom. Nevertheless, Digital zoom will produce extra pixels depending on current ones to fill and spread your photos. Your photos will fail in quality when digital zoom is used.
In addition, you'd better avoid handshake movements. Maybe you detect that the photos are a little bit blurry or lose some particulars as you examine your images. That is not your camera you should blame on. Shaking hands of photographers, instead, is where your dimmed shots resulted from. To resolve this unsteady camera problems, for one thing, you’d better keep yourself steady. You have to discover a good balance as you taking your shots. You may get yourself on one knee, or positioning your legs one in front of the other to make yourself much better balanced. For another thing, it is suggested to use a tripod. This will ensure you to get perfect handshake-free shots. However, there is surely a slight unavoidable movement which results in the out of focus of your shots although we are attempting to resolve.
At present, HDR images get more and more popular. Avoiding handshaking is especially significant for producing HDR scenes, which require a few differently exposed pictures for the same scenery. If there are handshake movements, the produced HDR images would be obviously blur. Although the unsteady-hands problem can be compensated among different exposed shots easily resolved by some professional software, such like HDR Darkroom and the like, it is required to avoid handshaking for each single exposure .
Eventually, choose appropriate scene modes. Most of nowaday's cameras have the function named as Scene Modes, where you can select according to the variety of photos you take. For example, you would better choose portrait mode if you want to take portrait shots and sport mode is recommended if you shoot photos of running children whereby the camera will use higher shutter speed so the subject will be sharp on the shot. Finally, your subject will be in concentration and distinguish from a obscued surrounding.
Some other tips
Shoot pictures in natural occasion. Avoid taking scenes in acute contrast. Shooting early in the morning or around end of the afternoon and you'll have a softer light situation to handle than at midday. Then you will raise a question----what can we acquire anticipated photos if we shoot in strong contrast like midday or under the sunshine? Until the emerging of HDR technique, people cannot often have their expected scenes.
