The Disco Biscuits Twitter Contest | Win Tickets to NYE Show in NYC

The Disco Biscuits are using Twitter for a new interactive contest launching this weekend in the middle of their two-night run at Washington D.C.’s 9:30 Club:

On the morning of Day 2 (October 3), we will begin sending out clues via our official Twitter account (www.twitter.com/disco_biscuits). To keep it interesting, we’ll have 3 prizes: the grand prize will be 2 tickets during the New Years run. Your choice of show, except New Years Eve! 2nd place…you’ll get the same thing! 3rd place is a Disco Biscuits merch item you can pick up at the 930 Club on Saturday night.

Each clue we tweet will make the mystery location (which is probably Biscuits-related) a little more obvious. All of the clues build up toward a single, winning location, so everyone following along on-time has an equal shot at winning the prizes. The first 3 people to @reply a photo from the mystery location will win.

I have to say, I haven’t seen that many bands using Twitter for more than basic updates and announcements. Based on plenty of fan commentary, I’d suggest that more Bisco fans make fun of twitter than actually use it, but I give the Disco Biscuits props for trying out something new. Besides, this is a good way to take full, viral advantage of Twitter’s @reply feature, and it sounds like it could be fun if you’re in D.C. during their two-night run with a free to day clown around.
