ROAD DATE 85352.41 08:50 THE CLASH OF THE MIGHTY

Welcome to my cyber highway: It is a Thursday and sadly I'm looking at having to cower down and beg for another 30 day permit so I can stay mobile, since while I have all my documents in hand no money for tags and fuel. So its fuel and Tags in June. I never in my life thought I'd see diesel fuel running at near $5.00 a gallon. Back years ago the price for a gallon of diesel fuel was at least 30 cents lower than high octane gasoline, but the times have changed. I also predicted years ago that light duty trucks and even cars powered by a diesel power plant would be the way to drive and would be the engine for the future. Back then I was told I was just dreaming. A dream or nightmare its your choice to decide but the popularity of diesel burning rides has pushed the price of diesel way over the price of gas. The big concern is that diesel is the prime power plant of all big rigs. That means if you got it a trucker brought it but it cost that trucker some big bucks to deliver it in that truck. So much any more its cheaper to just leave the truck parked. The flip side of all of it, is that many take a load that hardly pays anything and leaves little room in that payment for a profit let alone making a living. Likewize in my area of trucking of going towing to take a tow across town for what most folks want to pay does not even pay. To this end the United American Independent Truckers Association and us in the United American Road Resque Towing Association are joining together to stage a full bore trucker/towing strike. Just pull the keys and park it for a few weeks, and get the attention of those making policies especially in an election year. If enough goods are not delivered or hauled and wrecked and disabled vehicle calls go unanswered and wrecked metal piles up on that big road the fuzz, the politicians will soon take notice. But that will only be a short Band-Aid to the problem of so many going under because of fuel prices. A effort to stage a Truckers-Aid gig for us in rigs will go down in mid August.
