THE Caves of Androzani has been voted the top Doctor Who TV tale in a new poll. The story gained the highest score in a poll in Doctor Who Magazine, in which 6,700 people took part. It aired in four episodes in March 1984 and marked the last appearance of 5th Doctor Peter Davison and the first appearance of the 6th incarnation played by Colin Baker. As the Doctor regenerated, he was asked by companion Peri Brown what was happening and replied: "Change, my dear, and it seems not a moment too soon..." DAVID TENNANT returns to his Time Lord role in The Waters Of Mars, the second of four Doctor Who specials being screened on BBC One this year. Announcing its autumn season, the BBC confirmed Tennant would be joined by "his cleverest and most strong-minded companion yet", Adelaide, played by acclaimed British actress Lindsay Duncan. In the storyline for the special, Adelaide is head of the Mars Base and doesn't take kindly to an uninvited appearance by The Doctor. The companion for the new series of Dr Who has been revealed as a virtually unknown actress, Karen Gillan. The 21-year-old will appear alongside the new Doctor, Matt Smith in 2010 as the BBC run with a fifth series of the popular Sci-Fi programme. Gillan has appeared in C4's Stacked, The Kevin Bishop Show and James Nesbitt's forthcoming film Outcast before amazing the producer of Dr Who, who described her as , "funny, and clever, and gorgeous, and sexy."
