2006 Dodge Charger All-new sedan harkens to performance heritage. By Tom Lankard Overview The Dodge Charger is dead, long live the Dodge Charger. At least, that's how the Dodge guys in Michigan hope fans of the Chrysler Group's performance brand will receive the new Dodge Charger. While its namesake was a two-door hardtop, and commonly, if not completely accurately, referred to as a coupe, the all-new Charger is a four-door sedan, albeit styled somewhat deceptively to diminish that fact... And pay your respects to TP's creator, Carmi, on the sudden loss of his father. Best thoughts for you and your family Carmi. Introduced as a "concept car" based on the Polara in 1964, the Dodge Charger that finally saw production in 1966 was actually more of an afterthought than a conscious design. Chrysler's... Point either the Dodge Charger SRT8 or Pontiac G8 GXP down the road. With a light touch on the brakes, run the revs up a bit. Slip off the brake and bury the throttle. There's a light chirp as tires scratch for bite. Then comes a sub-5.0-second sled ride to 60 mph. A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match... Read Full Story

The email asked if we could carve a cake (to serve 100 guests) to look like a car. I responded that yes we probably could, if she would send us a photo of the car she wanted to order. Make sure you check out our Feature Car Page and visit the 1969 Dodge Charger 500. This is the aero car that Dodge built for NASCAR racing in 1969. Not the winged Daytona but the 500. Read about it and see this beautiful example owned by Jerry and Ann Narramore.
We saw this car at the Monster Mopar Weekend Nationals in St Louis in 2008 and couldn’t take our eyes off of it. Personally, I like the 500 body more than the Daytona. It isn’t as fast but it is much more streetable.
This example... Read Full Story
