The French poet Jacques Prevert (and no, that is not a typo; he apparently got there ahead of the perverts ), once said: “Art is never chaste. It ought to be forbidden to ignorant innocents, never allowed into contact with those not sufficiently prepared. Yes, art is dangerous. Where it is chaste , it is not art.” Well these are unchaste works that came into contact with many people who were not sufficiently prepared; most of these would probably have even drawn a “ Sacre Bleu! ” from Prevert himself. These are the kind of art works that confirm the worst suspicions of little ... Read Full Story

In a new book, the first instance in a long time that Google search engines have combined ‘sex’ and ‘priest’ without ’scandal’ immediately following the former, a Polish Franciscan friar offers a theological and practical guide for bringing the Catholic faith into the boudoir (well, as practical as a ... Currently Featured on the Huffington Post There’s good news for the unemployed, hard-drinking, proletarian populace who have desperately lacked the opportunity to buy an ice-cold brew on Sunday. It looks like Blue Laws might be repealed for our very own Depression in a most unholy stimulus plan. Could this be the shot-in-the-mouth that millions of not-so-God-fearing-Americans need to get the back on their feet… stumbling and weaving to refill their snifters with some discounted muscatel from the local five and dime or bodega? Following in the footsteps of Franklin Roosevelt, who chose to prohibit Prohibition and reintroduce spirits to, well, raise spirits in our ... Read Full Story
