A part of puppy training that is often overlooked is crate
training for dogs , which is sad as a doggy that has been crate trained properly is a content dog that can feel secure with their crate.
They treat their crates as their very own little den where they know they are secure. I know my little Pomeranian loved her crate and whenever she felt threatened or scared, she would run right into the safety of her crate.
Many people are of the opinion that keeping your dog within a crate is cruel, when in fact it is the opposite. They just love the security on the confined space of a crate, but care needs to be taken to make sure they aren't left inside the crate for too long, as they will not like it when they need to get out for their business.
Crate training puppies should be done by all dog owners. If your dog is full grown or still a pup you can do some training that will help them to love their own crate, which will then make life for you and your dog a whole lot easier.
Why Crate Train?
As mentioned above, getting your dog used to going into a crate will provide him with a secure and safe haven. Another bonus of crate training a dog, is that when the need arises where you have to transport them in your car, they are already used to the crate and you won't have any problems.

House training your dog can be helped by using the crate too.If you are a frequent traveler, it makes sense to consider getting a
crate to train your dog early. It won't happen often, but if you ever need to fly anywhere the crate will be very handy as your pup will already regard his crate as his safe little house. Having your dog used to traveling in a crate can make life easier for you and the dog.
